Founded in 1999, Culture pour la paix et la justice (CPJ) is a non-governmental organisation working to defend human rights and combat the death penalty and impunity in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is a founding member of the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty and coordinates the Congolese Coalition Against the Death Penalty (CCPM-RDC).
The collaboration between ECPM and Culture pour la Paix et la Justice began in 2005 with an initial fact-finding mission into the conditions of detention of people sentenced to death in the DRC.
