Fête de l’Humanité 2025: A Weekend of Encounters and Mobilization

As every year, the Fête de l’Humanité was a key moment for dialogue, awareness-raising, and advancing the abolitionist cause. Over two days, the ECPM team hosted a stand at the heart of the Village du Monde, alongside thousands of visitors drawn by music, debates, and activism.

Over 300 conversations about abolition

Through our activities—games, quizzes, and open discussions—we were able to engage with more than 300 people about the reality of the death penalty around the world and the urgent need to continue the fight for its universal abolition.

A shared stand, enriching perspectives

As is our tradition, we had the pleasure of sharing our stand with the Libérer Mumia collective, and together we welcomed the Prison Insider team on Saturday the 13th. These moments of co-presence sparked meaningful discussions, bringing together diverse perspectives and experiences on justice, detention conditions, and capital punishment.

A preview of our 25th anniversary

The Fête de l’Huma was also an opportunity to announce and promote a very special event: ECPM’s 25th anniversary celebration, which will take place at the Théâtre de la Concorde on October 3rd! We were thrilled to reveal that Albert Marques will be performing on stage, alongside a live performance by Keith LaMar, qwho will join us from death row in the United States. This will be a first-of-its-kind performance in France.

To book your tickets and join us in this celebration, head over to the Théâtre de la Concorde’s online ticketing platform

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to talk, play, and debate with us. Every conversation matters and fuels our commitment. Together, let’s continue to raise the voice of abolition loud and clear!
